INTRODUCING BALANCE!
A monthly party at the Monkey Lounge, a loft in Berklandville (the area around the border of Berkeley, Oakland, and Emeryville).
BALANCE
is a monthly community building event series (includes parties,
potlucks, eating, celebrations, Kwanzaa, art making) led by people of
color. Let's bring together a *diverse* social group (or community)
that is forwarding sustainable economics, ecology, and equity in the
East Bay. Lets build!
Balance is very important. Salad is an
amazing dish. You can put almost anything in it as long as you have the
right balance. Creating the right balance between sweet and sour, salty
and bitter, juicy, fatty, creamy, spicy, tangy, fruity, crunchy, and
crispy is magical. (Soups are similar.) For our events we want to have
a good mix that reflects and celebrates the diversity here. Balance is
also crucial in righting our relationship with the natural world, other
countries, vulnerable peoples, and each other!
