Pam, there were a series of shootings in East Oakland--one near 64th and Bancroft--that have cops all over the area. See http://www.ktvu.com/news/21802799/detail.html

The news reports say 2 people were shot inside an apartment, and adds "KTVU has unconfirmed reports that the confrontation at 64th Avenue and Bancroft came at the end of a running gun battle between two vehicles that started at 35th and MacArthur. There are unverified reports of a shooting victim being found at the intersection of 35th and School."

Right - o. I read it, too...just wonder, what do the helicopters do to help? I wish the police would let us know so we can all be on the lookout. Imagine if they could harness the power of Oakland Local.
