North Oakland has been getting rave reviews and national attention. What's your favorite new restaurant in the Temescal area?

Well, places to eat are always interesting.  I like Sura, the Korean restaurant  at 4869 Telegraph Ave; their food is wonderful whether you are vegan or a carnivore. My housemates are both obsessed with BakeSale Betty's--one adores the strawberry short cake, another loves the chicken sandwiches. (For me, the BB pleasure is the cole slaw.) I also like the fried catfish at the fried fish join right on Telegrap nr 49th, S&S Seafood--they're an occasional guilty pleasure for fish or fried oysters,

Thanks for this post - great idea!

I am a die-hard Cafe Colucci fan.  The Kitfo Special is a meat-eater's dream, and their Veggie Combo is fabulous too.  I came to the East Bay from DC, which is not known for food, but is known for Ethiopian, and Cafe Colucci beats out the best spots in the District.
