Partners & Sponsors
Oakland Local is a project of The Center for Media Change, a 501c3. We are a news and community site for Oakland, focused on providing community news and discussion as a way to deepen civic engagement and make people aware of great work being done in Oakland to address issues and problems we have.
Our seed funding comes from a New Voices grant awarded by J-Lab at American University, with funds provided by The Knight Foundation. We are the recipient of funding from The Harnisch Foundation and The G.W. Williams Center for Independent Journalism, as well as a grant from The Renaissance Journalism Center.
If you would like to partner with us and blog or include your community news on our site, please get in touch with Kwan Booth (kwan at oaklandlocal dot com), Emilie Raguso (emilie at oaklandlocal dot com) or Susan Mernit (susan at oaklandlocal dot com).
