Happy crowds at Alameda County Ready to Learn Fun Fair this weekend

More than one hundred school kids turned out for the 6th annual 6th Annual Ready to Learn Fun Fair! The afternoon event, held at Peralta Elementary School off 63rd street in North Oakland, give kids and their families a chance to check out local health and learning resources, enjoy facepainting and get free books. Scholastic's Clifford the Big Red Dog and Buki the Clown were both in attendance.

Sponsors included Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson, KQED, Peralta Elementary School, Peralta Parent Teacher Group,First 5 Every Child Counts, Volunteers of America, MassMutualand the Socially Responsible Network.
