Looking for work?

Come out to a free jobs fair hosted by Congresswoman Barbara Lee and is a multi-agency collaboration between the Offices of Assemblyman Sandre Swanson, Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson and Oakland City Council President Larry Reid; Oakland Mayor Jean Quan; the Oakland Private Industry Council; the Oakland Workforce Investment Board; the city of Oakland Enterprise Zone; and Alameda Labor Council, AFL-CIO, Alameda County Building.

This event will be held at the Oakland Coliseum, which is accessible by BART and several AC Transit lines.

Schedule

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  -  Career Expo: Employer and other Community Services; open to general public in Eastside Club exhibition hall

10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  -  Resume review available in Eastside Club exhibition hall

11 to 11:45 a.m.  -   Social media and career networking; Susan Mernit, Oakland Local, upstairs suite

Noon to 12:45 p.m.  -  Workshop II, Upstairs suite

1 to 1:45 p.m.  -  Workshop III, Upstairs suite

2 to 2:45 p.m.  -  Workshop IV, Upstairs suite

About Susan Mernit

Susan Mernit is the founder of Oakland Local. She is also a circuit rider for The Community Information Challenge, a program of The John S and James L Knight Foundation, and a consultant to non-profit and community organizations. Susan lives in North Oakland, near the Santa Fe school, with her partner, her housemate, a rescue dog named Cazzie, and a yard full of ants. She is an aspiring gardener, a long-time blogger & entrepreneur, and a recovering journalist who's found home in Oakland.
