It wasn't supposed to be this way. Skyline High School senior Alan Blueford was just weeks away from graduating Skyline High School.

Instead, his family is preparing for a funeral and searching for answers.

Blueford died after being shot by an Oakland police officer on May 5. According to police, Blueford pointed a gun at officers after he ran when they ordered him to stop.

Updated: May 16 is new date for CPRB forum on police response to Occupy Oakland

After an extended delay, the Citizens Police Review Board will "tentatively" hold its Occupy Oakland public forum on May 16 at the Allen Temple Baptist Church from 6 p.m. until 10pm.

The focus of the forum is expected to be the Oakland Police Department’s response to the Occupy Oakland encampments and protests between Oct. 25 and Jan. 28.

This Thursday, March 22, the Oakland Police Department will host a community gathering to unveil a key crime fighting tool. The “CompStat” meeting will be held at the Acts Full Gospel Church in East Oakland. The meeting will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
