The last thing Karl Osterloh needed was another woman in his life. With a lovely wife and six wonderful daughters, Karl clearly wasn’t lacking in that area. But when I came on board as Fairyland’s new executive director nearly a decade ago, I was entering Karl’s turf, and he was going to make damn sure that I didn’t muck up the place he’d spent so many years restoring and caring for.
