Bawdy Storytelling describes itself as “a monthly storytelling event in the Bay Area that features real people sharing their bona fide sexual exploits in 10 minutes or less.

In the three weeks since Oregon State University officials cancelled Tristan Taormino’s keynote speech at OSU’s “Modern Sex” Conference, the university received hundreds of calls and emails criticizing its decision.

Holiday cheer, anyone?

This past weekend, Red Hots Burlesque teamed with Burlesque Moulin and Rubenesque Burlesque to deliver seasons greetings — and plenty more — in their Winter show, “High Holidaze.” Though a rainy Saturday night kept some folks away from the Shattuck Down Low, those who made it got plenty of nog for their egg.

What’s especially cool about Red Hots Burlesque is its interpretation of burlesque: somewhere in-between tasteful and tawdry, and both titillating and thought-provoking. Yes, “High Holidaze” was both naughty and nice.

The SHERO Women's Sexual Empowerment Conference will take place on Saturday, November 13th, 2010 from 9:00am - 3:30pm at the Oak Center Cultural Center (1324 Adeline Street in Oakland). There are spaces for 20 participants and not all of the slots have been filled.
