This Saturday, Aug. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the first G.U.R.L.S. Rock Summit will take place to empower young girls of color to become global leaders. The day-long event will take place at 1 Frank Ogawa Plaza at City Hall in Oakland.

Learn to put your best foot forward, and snag those elusive job openings, next week at Wardrobe for Opportunity's open house, which will showcase the group's snazzy new digs in downtown Oakland.

The events, on Monday and Tuesday, will feature refreshments and a chance to learn about the organization's programs and volunteering opportunities.
