A Better World is Possible is the tag line of the US Social Forum and if it was possible to bottle the hope and determination in the rooms, or release it as a gas in the atmosphere, there's no question our world would be a better place. As I write this, I am sitting in the Media Center, a giant dining room turned into a computer lab with space for writers, folks who need tech support (from Oakland's Aspiraton Tech, of course), broadcasters and a press conference space.

I'm in Detroit and about to dive into the second annual US Social Forum, a river of hope, events and color that seems both amazing and overwhelming.  There is NO WAY I am going to manage to even read about the 12,000 workshops being offered to the 10,000 plus people in the city for this, let alone manage to navigate, on time, to all the events I want to attend--urban faming, food sustainabilty, climate justice, building a better world--there is so much here and so many people from around the US.
