It wasn't supposed to be this way. Skyline High School senior Alan Blueford was just weeks away from graduating Skyline High School.

Instead, his family is preparing for a funeral and searching for answers.

Blueford died after being shot by an Oakland police officer on May 5. According to police, Blueford pointed a gun at officers after he ran when they ordered him to stop.

Many in Oakland turned out for a march this Saturday, May 12, to protest the lack of police training and accountability around the death of slain youth Alan Blueford - a high school senior who was shot and killed by the Oakland police on May 6. Blueford was killed at 90th and Birch Street in East Oakland when he fled from police.

Alan DeWayne Blueford was an 18-year-old senior at Skyline High School, preparing to graduate in June. He was the youngest son of Adam Blueford Sr. and Jeralynn Brown Blueford.
