from the folks at KONO:

A break in the much-needed storms allows the Bay Area community to gather for music, art and food at the open-air street festival in downtown Oakland known as Oakland First Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The Art Murmur gallery walk, along with all other first Friday activities in Oakland, will also be happening.

The Oakland First Fridays street festival event returns on March 7th after a rained-out event in February.  The five-block festival will feature a wide range of artists, crafters, musicians, artisan food vendors, and more.  The combination of the Oakland First Fridays street festival, open-house art galleries, restaurants, bars and music venues, creates a happening nightlife destination in Oakland.

Oakland food artisans featured at the Oakland Frist Fridays street festival on Telegraph Avenue will include Dutch waffle desserts by The Stroopie Gourmet, vegan Filipino dishes by No Worries, BBQ dinners by Big Serg BBQ, delicacies including Dungeness crab fritters by Sassafrass Seagrass.  Musicians from all genres who perform each month range from local high-school acts to professional musicians strutting their stuff. Art installations include the popular art wall by ArtIsMobilUs.  Those shopping will find a wide range of hand-crafted jewelry, original prints, custom clothing and more.

Sponsors for the Oakland First Fridays event include the Lyft, Inc. and KONO (Koreatown Northgate) Community Benefit District.
