As mainstream healthcare continues to become more costly and dangerous, informed consumers are opening their minds to complementary / alternative medicine. The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences (Academy), an IHL which has been serving the Oakland and East Bay communities since 1982, offers low-cost, high-quality health care to the Oakland and East Bay communities.

ACCHS is moving to 1600 Broadway in downtown Oakland, and will now be able to see double the number of patients and increase the Academy’s enrollment. The Academy’s student clinic currently offers acupuncture, herbs, and Tui Na medical massage.

A grand opening on June 27 at 5 p.m. will follow a visit by the NAAHP (National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions) and attendance will include Oakland Mayor Jean Quan. The Grand Opening will allow the community to come and see the updated clinic facility. Festivities will feature demonstrations in traditional Chinese medicine, a Taoist blessing by Dr. Alex Feng, and live music. The new location is within walking distance of the 12th and 19th Street BART stations in Oakland. The staff and students of the Academy will be happy to show all visitors around the new location.
