Looking for ways to spend Thanksgiving with your community? Oakland Local’s got a few suggestions:

  • City of Oakland is hosting its 23rd Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for low-income families, seniors, and homeless individuals on Tuesday, Nov 25th from 11 am – 2 pm at the Oakland Marriott City Center. Click here for more information on how to get involved.
  •  St. Vincent de Paul is putting on a free Thanksgiving lunch to low-income and homeless individuals on Thursday, Nov 27th from 10:45 am – 12:45 pm in their year-round dining room. Donate a turkey Tuesday – Saturday to the dining room to help feed their 800+ attendees! Call 510-385-8926 for more information.
  • College Avenue Presbyterian Church will be serving a free community meal on Thursday, Nov 27th from 11 am – 1 pm. All are welcome and volunteers are especially needed.
  • Two Star Market, located in the Dimond district, will be celebrating Thanksgiving with free food and fun on Thursday, Nov 27th from 1 – 4 pm. You’re invited!
  • Spice Monkey is serving a free Thanksgiving meal with a culinary twist on Thursday, Nov 27th from 4:30 – 7 pm. Reservations required, bring 15 cans each to donate to the Alameda County Food Bank.
